Tips on Uninstalling Internet Explorer 8

Are you bashing your head against the wall with Microsoft's Internet browser? If you like, you can get a new program to browse with instead of the default Windows browser. From your computer or laptop follow this guide to uninstall Internet Explorer 8 (IE8).

Find out what operating system you have. To remove or uninstall the program from your computer, is slightly different depending on your operating system (known as OS). Check to see if your PC is running Windows XP or Windows Vista. Below, you will find instructions for uninstalling Internet Explorer 8 from either of these systems.

Remove IE 8 from Windows XP. It is relatively simple to uninstall IE 8 from a computer that is running on Windows XP. Microsoft enables removing programs pretty simply with just a few clicks. To remove IE 8, start with a click on Start (found at the bottom on the left side of your desktop screen). Select 'start,' and in the list of options in the pop-up menu, click on 'control panel.' Find the 'Add or Remove Programs' icon and click on it. All your icons should be listed out in alphabetical order. Look out for Windows Internet Explorer 8' program and highlight it by clicking on it. Now just select 'remove' to confirm that you want to uninstall the program. Once that has been done, you need to restart your computer and the program will be uninstalled.


Remove IE 8 from Windows Vista
Internet Explorer 8 can be uninstalled from Windows Vista. Because Microsoft's newer OS has been updated and changed, instructions for uninstalling IE 8 are different with Vista. You shouldn't be concerned, though, as you can also remove programs from Vista easily!

To remove IE 8 on Vista, click Start on the left of the screen. When the menu bar comes up, click 'control panel'. Next there will be a few choices. Choose the Program or Programs by clicking once then click 'View installed updates' from the pop-up window'. This will be found under 'tasks' if using classic view.

When the list of updates comes up, it should be easy to find "Windows Internet Explorer 8 on the list. Click uninstall on the list of updates. After you have done that it will begin removing the program from your PC. Your computer will require a restart once it is finished. That's all you have to do for a correct removal of Internet Explorer 8.
